Report a Performance
Upcoming performance? That’s great! I would love to hear about it and promote your ensemble and concert on my events page. Use the full form on the right hand side to fill in details. You can also send images of your logo, etc. to chelsea@komschlies.com. Be sure to send me a concert program file when you have one.
I’m also working on a master list of all past performances and would still love to link to your ensemble on my site, so send details of those as well!
Regarding all performances, please read below:
My Performing Rights Organization is ASCAP. All public performances of my works must be licensed through ASCAP in order to be legal (performances outside the U.S. are licensed through an agreement between ASCAP and the other country’s PRO). If you are a performer and don’t know what this means - don’t worry. Licensing and paying royalties are the responsibility of the venue where the performance takes place, not the performers themselves.
What I do need from you as the performer is a concert program and notification about the performance. Unless I manually report each and every performance to ASCAP along with a concert program, I don’t get paid. Royalties form a significant portion of my income as a composer and allow me to keep doing what I love, so I appreciate your help in this!
If you have a concert program file:
This doesn’t need to be fancy - pictures on your phone are fine! Make sure to include front/title page plus any pages showing date, venue, piece title, and my name.
Please send this as soon as you have the concert program, because there is a time limit on what can be reported and paid by ASCAP.
You can also email files directly to chelsea@komschlies.com if you prefer.
If you don’t have a concert program file, use the form below to enter info (this gets sent directly to me). I can sometimes still track down a file by contacting the school/festival/conference etc. where the piece was performed.
